I chose my body of work ‘HEADLINES AND LAST LINES IN THE MOVIES’ as it feels pertinent in these uncertain times. The work’s concept centres around how news headlines can create more uncertainties amongst the public, as by their nature they often sound fictitious. The work also explores how the media’s manipulation of data can affect our own reality, making it feel like we are in a movie.

Taking the information from the two original starting points, the texts are layered and saturated over each other in spraypaint. These two elements of reality (news) and fiction (movies) blend easily during these strange times, where a pandemic is causing a health crisis and the immediate future has become abstracted.
