We are a community divided by borders of nations but we persist in building a link between us beyond these limits. We live in different territories: Pikunmapu / Qullasuyu (misnamed Chile) and Kumeyaay territory (US / Mexico border). Nations not only have traditions and identity, they also have changes and revolutions. Towards that energy in constant movement we want to offer this video that we have woven as a ceremony that is yet to come. We seek to stimulate the political imagination and radical love (Andrew Jolivétte) as gestures of reciprocity through these actions that crave to communicate through the sea. Each action performed in the project is thought as a relation with the great body of water (füta lafken) that has been named as Pacific Ocean. Gabriela “Himitsu” Nuñez built a sound atmosphere for this collective experimentation. This video was composed through two performances in different places, two pieces of textiles (witral) and one poetic text. All put together inviting to sense another notion of the sea like a fluid memory of tidalectics (Kamau Brathwaite) that break linear time as the only way to understand life. We want to erase the border, to invoke the waves of the ocean throwing our woven offerings as non-human beings to learn how to navigate waters that do not have limits.

Somos una comunidad que está dividida por fronteras de naciones, pero persistimos en construir un vínculo entre nosotres más allá de estos límites. Habitamos en distintos territorios: Pikunmapu/Qullasuyu (mal llamado Chile) y territorio Kumeyaay (US/Mexico border). Las naciones no solo tienen tradiciones e identidad, también tienen cambios y revoluciones. Hacia esa energía en constante movimiento queremos ofrendar este video que hemos tejido como una ceremonia que está por venir. Queremos estimular la imaginación política y el amor radical (Andrew Jolivétte) como gestos de reciprocidad a través de estas acciones que anhelan comunicarse a través del mar. Cada acción realizada en el proyecto está pensada como una relación con el gran cuerpo de agua (füta lafken) que ha sido nombrado como Océano Pacífico. Gabriela “Himitsu” Nuñez construyó una atmósfera sonora para esta experimentación colectiva. Este video está compuesto por dos performances en diferentes lugares, dos piezas textiles (witral) y un texto poético. Combinados invitan a sensibilizarse con otra noción del mar como una memoria fluida de marealécticas (Kamau Brathwaite) que rompen con el tiempo lineal como única forma de entender la vida. Queremos borrar la frontera, invocar a las olas del océano para arrojar nuestras ofrendas tejidas como seres no humanos, que puedan navegar por aguas que no tienen límites.
