‘This video is far from perfect but very dear to me. I put together iPhone footage from a trip in Rabat very spontaneously and played with sound and special effects.
These small discoveries turned out to be the basis for all the video language I have been developing since then during the past 5 years.
In these weird times, I am very very lucky to be able to stay home and have full days to myself. It’s been reminding me of my teenage-hood or early 20’s, when I was able to play inside out of boredom and make cloudy discoveries. I say cloudy because they were blurry and spherical, contained and open at the same time. Most importantly, they were not in the sharp linear shapes of goal oriented projects. I had missed this luxury and I find that this video piece--watching it now after a few years--has some of that energy I used to have which could be described as being a hyperactive virgin with too many crushes.’
