“We are at the moment coping like everyone else – trying to get the most current and up-to-date information, stocking up our pantry, and limiting our movements. As we do this, we find it deeply ironic that having early on cast a critical glance on technology and the dehumanizing side of the internet, and in light of the current disillusionment with fake news and the manipulation of emotion in our data driven economy, that we find ourselves now so dependent on social media in order to stay connected, informed, and in touch. As we all scramble to practice social distancing we are maintaining our humanity through technology. Without becoming techno-evangelists, we do have to realize that without these tools at our disposal, we would be in a much harder place. And we must recognize that those without reliable access will suffer the most.“
